New Years Celebrations

New Year's Celebrations:

Does your Family celebrate new years? My Family normally celebrates with
my Dad’s Family because they live closer to us then my Mums side. But last
year (or should I say this year,) was quite different.

Firstly, how my Dad’s side celebrates is kind of like how other families would
celebrate, but anyways. We start off by preparing the food/snacks, seating/
stuff to sit on, shade and fans etc. Mum normally bakes something like
brownie, lemon cake, chocolate cake or more. We also bring drinks, cups,
and fans because we have it in summer when it’s really hot. We also bring
our mat. Anyways, enough telling you about what we normally bring, now
it’s time to explain what we do at these types of new year picnics. 

We start off by looking around for a place to set up, and we sit down and
wait for the rest of the family to come. Once they arrive, there’s normally
lots of little kids from my family running around, so I go and look after them
at the playground, in the water, and around the grass. After a while we start
eating, and we all share our food around with each other.

My Auntie brings sport gear every year, and we play different sports, it’s
pretty fun. The adults always talk a lot, so most of the kids end up going
onto the playground quite a lot.

My Mum’s families New year’s celebration last year was also very fun. For
my mum’s family celebration last year, we went and stayed at a bach (a New
Zealand holiday home) near Tauranga. We celebrated new years with
fireworks, glow sticks, a bonfire, and music. It was very fun. We were there
for quite a while, and did quite a lot of fun things.

Overall, I like celebrating new years with my family because there’s always
different ways to celebrate it. I wonder what you do to celebrate New Years?

Admirable Person

Who is someone you admire? Mum, Dad, sibling, grandma, grandpa, auntie, uncle, friend, celebrity? I admire all of the people who try their hardest, and do their best. But one person, one celebrity I admire, is Kylie Jenner, the famous Rize n shine star.

First of all Kylie Jenner, became the world’s youngest self made billionaire at the age of 21, now being a 22 year old billionaire, also a mother of 2 year old Stormi Webster, owns a business called “Kylie cosmetics” (you can kind of already tell by the name.) Helping her out with her business was Kris Jenner (Kylie’s mom) also known as “momager.” Together, they made a billion dollar company, (which is kind of how Kylie Jenner became a billionaire.)

Next, Kylie Jenner knows all about being on camera (seeing as she grew up filming keeping up with the kardashians, life of kylie and much more with her sisters.) Speaking of Kylie’s sisters (and brother,) and the Kardashians, Kylie and Kendall Jenner, are the youngest of all the sisters. Next age up comes Rob Kardashian-Jenner, then Khloe Kardashian-Jenner, Kim Kardashian-Jenner, and the oldest out of all of them, Kourtney Kardashian-Jenner. 

Also, Kourtney Kim and Khloe all have brands/companies as well. Kourtney’s Brand is Poosh Which is named after her daughter (Penelope’s) nickname. Kim’s Brand is K.K.W, a brand that sells Lip-sticks, Fragrances, and much more and if you didn’t know, also stands for Kim . Kardashian . west, as she is married to Kanye West. Khloe’s brand is called “Good American” Founded with Emma Grede, and lately, they have been selling jeans. It must be pretty cool having Sisters that own companies, but that could also sometimes mean less time spent with their family.

In conclusion Kylie Jenner is a celebrity that I admire for her hard work, owning a business as well as being a mother, and also being on a TV show. I'm sure her Family must be very proud of her, and her rising business.

Group Dimic Work

Task Description: For this task we had to get into one big group to do some Group maths work with Mrs Ilaoa. Once we got into one big group, we had to get into little groups of 2. In my group was Deborah. I saw a lot of answers to the questions which I found both challenging, and good. Above this is the work that Me and Deborah managed to do in this lesson. How I got my Name

Hello there, did you know that my name is Jedida? That’s great
if you did, but if you didn’t then hi, my name is Jedida, and this is
the story of how I got my name.

My name means Beloved of the lord or friend of god. There was
also someone in the bible called Jedidah. She was 

Josiah’s mother, and did you know that Josiah was named king
at 7 years old, and was king for 40 years.

I don’t really know how my parents came to the decision of
Jedida. But I do know that if I was a boy, then they would have
named me Jedidiah. Which only has one difference to it.

My middle name was chosen after my Auntie, and my last
name was already ready for me before my mum even got
pregnant. My sister's middle name is also named after my
Auntie, but it’s my Auntie's other name.

Overall, I am very proud of my name, culture, and where I
come from.

Homework Writing: My Family Hero, Grandma

My Family hero that I have chosen to write about, is my Grandma. I was born not long after she passed away, so I don't really remember much about her. Grandma is my Dad's Mum and she was a beautiful, kind, compassionate, generous woman. Everyone loved and still loves her to this day. The memory of her is still alive and it's been past down to me through stories and songs. I love my Grandma and miss her but I know she's in a better place.

Grandma raised 10 children including my dad. Their house was always filled with lots of people, and she always managed to feed every person, and make them feel really welcome. At Grandma's funeral, I was told each person who spoke thought that they were her favourite. She just had a way of making everyone feel super special, welcome, loved. I hope to one day be like her by making everyone feel loved and happy. Even though I didn't really get to talk with her or meet her properly. I think that she was an amazing person/mother/woman and she will be loved for ever.
