Special Assembly!

Today we had yet another special assembly. This assembly was a surprise for all of the students, and it was a very cool surprise. The assembly went on as normal, but the surprise was a person. Can you guess who? Joseph Parker. If you don't know who Joseph Parker is, he is a New Zealand professional boxer. He came to our school today, and he was the special part of the assembly. He played the guitar, said a few words, and gave out some duffy certificates and welcome to Pt England school kits. But it was just Joseph Parker that came to our school, the other person who also came along, and who helped plan it, was his sister, Elizabeth Parker.
It was a very cool assembly, where we practiced our Matariki song for next week, and lunch box heroes, and he said he liked the korero, and gave us one for next week. Two cool messages Joseph Parker gave us were, Believe in yourself, and nothing beats hard work. Those are two very important messages to hear. Especially when you're trying to work towards something. He said that these are what helped him throughout his career.
