On friday the 26th of june, we celebrated matariki here at school. For this day, we had different workshops, for different choices that people had chosen. There were four choices, arts and crafts, cooking, movie making, and sports. For my first choice, I chose arts and crafts and I ended up in one of the arts and crafts groups. My teachers were Mrs Moala, and Ms Tipene. We started by doing drawings of Korus. After colouring those in, we moved onto watching a movie while layering paper to make cool patterns.
This day was fun because it wasn't too busy, and everyone seemed a bit relaxed (maybe just because it was a friday.) We had an assembly at the beginning of the day. That assembly was quite normal, except for the senior Kapa Haka group performing. At the end of the day, we also had another assembly, but this time it was about showing everyone's work, and how much fun everyone had. The assembly at the end of the day also included the junior Kapa Haka groups performance.
