immersion assembly, which is when the teachers tell/act/make a movie about what the different teams are going to learn about this term, in term 3. This term's theme is a world of difference.
So first, it started off with mr Burt, talking about his hats that he had collected from around the world. then mr Jacobson talked about scottland, because that's apart of his culture. Then mr Sommerville talked about his family, and how they were knights, and that they had a castle in england.
Then the teacher from team 1 started their movie. They made a movie about going to school, and wondering how the other kids in other contries, in other schools would do things like eat lunch, or go to school. I liked their movie because they made it fun for the team 1 kids to watch, and shows what they're learning about.
Next was team 2, they made a movie about dora the explorer, exploring the world, and learning more about buildings and staues, and famous places.
Can you guess who was next? team 3! team three made a movie about the amazing race, (but insted of the people on tv, they werew the team 3 teachers.) They made a movie about (yes, you guessed it,) travling around the world.
Next, came team 4. in their movie, they were all eating different foods, and discovering where abouts in the world they are from, using google. I found this movie quite entertaining, because almost every teacher included comedy.
Next, team 5 were ready to tell a story without talking. They acted sina and the eel, and a the end, they explained team 5 are learning about myths and legends.
Then mr Burt finished off the assembly by saying the classic, "have a happy day point england." I found this assembly good because it was a good kick off to the term, and a great 'welcome back.'
